Job Title: Hope Island Resort Internal Bridge Works
Client: Hope Island Resort Holdings Pty Ltd

Description:

Doval Constructions has been awarded the contract to construct 3 bridges on Hope Island Road (A.K.A. Oxenford-Southport Road) between Gracemere drive and Santa Barbara Rd at the Gold Coast Suburb of Hope Island, referred to as the Grand Canal South Bridges.

Two of the bridges are to be dual lane bridges, complete with footpaths and guardrails as well as footpaths / golf buggy paths running below the bridge alongside the river. A third bridge, owned by Hope Island resort Holdings is to be constructed alongside these 2 bridges and will be for the exclusive use of the residents of the new surrounding estates.

The bridges are concrete construction consisting of 3 spans of prestressed precast deck beams. The foundations consist of 14m long driven piles supporting abutment pilecaps and retaining walls as well as pier pilecaps supporting pylons and headstocks. Relieving slabs provide connection to the adjoining roads.

The bridge will connect an internal body of water to the Coomera river which will provide all the residents of that waterway with access to the Broadwater via the Coomera river.

The end result of this construction will increase Hope Island Road carrying capacity from the current single lane road to dual lane highways in each direction.
